The 2018 Innovation Awards of the Association for the Development of Research and Innovation in Quebec (ADRIQ) were presented on November 22 at the Palais des congrès in Montreal, during the 28th Innovation Awards Gala. This year’s gala was hosted by Yves Desgagnés, a Quebec actor, director, and filmmaker. ADRIQ took the opportunity to celebrate its 40th anniversary and, in doing so, pay tribute to Bernard Landry, one of ADRIQ’s pioneers, who supported its founding in 1978 when he was Minister of State for Economic Development. The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Pierre Fitzgibbon, honoured us with his presence and delivered a promising speech for Quebec’s future!
For its 28th edition, ADRIQ honoured Mr. Claude Attendu, outgoing Executive Director of the National Research Council Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program, as its Innovation Personality of the Year. Furthermore, ADRIQ’s President and CEO, Mr. Pascal Monette, announced that, starting in 2019, the Innovation Personality of the Year Award will officially become the Bernard-Landry Award in honour of this great builder!
